Fertilizer, Manure and Soil Amendments

Before planting is the time to start applying amendments. What does your ground currently have in it?  Do you plants just not seem to grow and you are not sure why? Do you have a viable plan? 

Adding the correct nutrients to the soil will determine whether your plants reach maximum production or they just sit there and don't seem to grow. By the time the lack of growth in noticeable it is probably too late to add them, so it is important to know which what amount of nutrients your soil has now and which ones need to be applied. The most efficient way to apply nutrients is before planting. Early spring is the time to do it. And not all not types of soil enrichers are readily available. It is imperative to get a viable plan and implement as early in the season as possible. We will do that for you.

There are three types of soil enhancers:

  • Conventional fertilizers. These the most readily available and easiest to apply.
  • Manures. These can be difficult to arrange and not be readily available, but also ofter a broad spectrum of trace minerals.
  • Compost. While these improve overall soil health, they are generally nutrient lacking.
